Samsung fridges use what are either referred to as internal or external filters. External filters are long thin cartridges into which tubing is inserted either end, and are usually found located behind the refrigerator on a mounting clip. Internal filters are found within the refrigerator compartment itself, usually the top right corner, and the cartridges are stubby 'light bulb' style affairs, which push up and twist.
Samsung fridges previous to 2009 used the DA29-00003B cartridge, which was superceeded in their G-series fridges by the DA29-00003G model. Essentially the G variant was slightly smaller, which meant fridges using the B cartridge could make use of the G, but fridges using the G were not backward compatible. Naturally this created quite a bit of confusion amongst Samsung owners, and indeed, this was complicated further due to a fault in the new G series filters which meant they didn't always 'properly' seat into the older B series filter heads. In addition, these cartridges have been historically very expensive, and even today its not difficult to find official delaers retailing the manufacturers part in excess of £60.
The FilterLogic cartridge addresses all these issues, offering UK customers what we believe is the first genuine G series compatible filter, which will not only fit newer Samsung fridges BUT has been specifically engineered to fit older B style fridges which have previously refused to accept the newer style of filter. Essentially this is a one cartridge fits solution, which not only deals with the farcical situation with the two original filters but also offers customers a significant cost saving - The only compatible on the market at less than £20 delivered!
FilterLogic FL293 filters are based on carbon block technology and offer the same level of filtration performance as the Samsung original. Cartridges should be replaced every six months.
