The GXRLQR cartridge is not something overly common in Europe, used more as a retrofit (non standard) filter on many non-GE fridges, such as the earlier Bosch models which didn't come with an inline filter as standard. Its an external filter, usually located behind of beside the refrigerator, which can be easily identified with the 'GE' branding marked on the fixed filter head.
The cartridge is a carbon block filter, which removes chlorine, sediment and dissolved organics.
