An expensive and difficult filter to source, the new style Lamona filter is a short (usually) horizontally mounted cartridge which fits within the refigerator compartment itself. The cartridge uses block carbon technology to remove chlorine, sediment and dissolved organics - improving the taste of the water whilst at the same time protecting the internal components of the fridge from problems caused by free particulates (sticking solenoid valves etc).
