The UKF8001AXX cartridge is a cylindrical filter which usually is located in the top right corner of the fridge compartment itself (usually covered with a drop down fascia which opens like a crocodiles mouth). It is used in several models of fridge manufactured by Maytag group, including Amana and Admiral models common in the UK. It will also fit -some- John Lewis models and some Caple fridges manufactured from 2009 onwards.
The cartridge is a carbon based taste and odour filter, which will also help reduce some heavy metals including lead and mercury, significantly improving the taste of your tap water whilst ensuring that the internal components of the fridge are protected from sediment build-up.
